Denver SQL Server User Group - Thursday, October 15th, 2015

Warmup Presentation: Networking

Join us for a new way of networking within our user group. We're going to take this time to get to know the strengths of our fellow members and how we can help, and be helped in professional and personal development.

Main Presentation: Powershell and the Art of SQL Server Deployment

What if I told you that you could install SQL Server without ever logging into your machine? Desired State Configuration is the new "killer" feature of Powershell 4.0 and gives administrators the ability to manage server configurations in a consistent manner. Using DSC, SQL Server admins can now build a configuration that will deploy SQL Server to any number of instances in the same way every time. Combine this with some additional configuration scripts that can be run remotely on demand, and you will be able to let Powershell build your SQL Servers while you relax with a cup of coffee. By attending this session, you will be able to see what makes up DSC, how it works, and watch it in action as we use it to deploy test SQL Servers the same way. Every time.
