Overview
Denver SQL Server User Group has five board positions; President, VP Events, VP Marketing, VP Membership and Treasurer that help to guide the direction and offerings of the group. The board positions are two year terms and have alternating election years. The President, VP Marketing and Treasurer positions have odd election years and VP Event and VP Membership have even election years. Having alternating election years for the positions ensures a more fluid transition when positions have been turned over.

VP Marketing
- Promotes user group
- To new members
- To user group organizations such as PASS
- To vendors
- To Microsoft
- Assists other board members where needed
- Assist with other duties as needed
- Ability to volunteer 10 hours average per month

Treasurer
- Responsible for keeping financial accounts in balance
- Assists during fundraising events to ensure proper and accurate money flow
- Responsible for purchasing goods deemed beneficial for the user group
- Develops a base of past and new potential sponsors
- Assists other board members where needed
- Assist with other duties as needed
- Ability to volunteer 10 hours average per month

VP Membership
- Works with and addresses member related questions
- Works to recruit new members
- Develops new recruiting methods
- Assists other board members where needed
- Assist with other duties as needed
- Ability to volunteer an average of 10 hours per month

Interested in Running
Having limited experience with SQL Server or even the user group should not discourage you from running for this position. We are seeking someone that is energetic, has new ideas and wants to make a difference in the group’s direction. The entire board meets each month for a few hours to discuss direction and upcoming events as well as the regular monthly meeting.

Voting Process
Candidate information will be posted to the DenverSQL.org web site viewable only when you are logged in. Voting will open after our monthly meeting on Thursday, February 16 and close Tuesday, February 28 at 5 pm. Registered and logged in members will be able to cast 1 vote per position.
